Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

What is PBIS?

PBIS is a positive, proactive approach to encouraging and acknowledging expected behaviors within the school. PBIS is an ongoing process that will continue to develop in the months and years to come. 

 

How do we use PBIS?

    Definition

    What our students look like when accountable in a virtual environment…

    P = Prepared

    Ready to do or deal with something
    • Prepared to learn 
    • Start class with all needed supplies (For example, a fully charged laptop).
    • Attempt all classwork, tests, etc. and 
    • Contribute to learning

    A = Accountable

    Required or expected to justify actions or decisions; responsible
    • Check your email daily
    • Attend all classes
    • Ask for help when needed
    • Use resources available to you

    C = Conscientious

    Wishing to do what is right, especially to do one's work or duty well and thoroughly.
    • Consider the perspective & feelings of others
    • Monitor & be aware of items on my Google calendar or Week at a Glance
    • Keep online interactions on-task and relevant to the topic 
    • Mute your microphone unless speaking

    K = Kind

    Having or showing a friendly, generous, and considerate nature
    • Celebrate the success of others 
    • Always thinking before posting, “Is it true, is it helpful, is it necessary?”
