The J.E.B. Stuart National Honor Society participated in “Wish Week” during Shine on Week on Apr. 9-13. The event was coordinated by sophomore and former wish kid, Ruth Dejene. Members sold Make-a-Wish merchandise, pizza, and collected pennies to Pie Penny Gros throughout the week in hopes of raising $2,000 dollars for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Having won the Penny challenge, sophomores rejoiced in pieing Mrs. Gros at Springfest, but students quickly realized they could raise even more money so Mrs. Gros upped the ante by stating that if students raised 4,000 dollars she would dye her hair. Students and staff once again rose to the challenge and the National Honor Society were able to raise $4,100 dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
