ESSER III English Language Arts Strategies |
Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in English Language Arts. |
Strategy 1: Reteach essential standards to Tier 2 and 3 students during the school day and flexible times. Strategy 2: Use evidence based practices to deliver meaningful lessons aimed towards improving Tier 2 and 3 student performance on essential skills Strategy 3: Provide extracurricular instructional support to Tier 2 and 3 students on-campus and off-campus outside of regular school hours

Access & Opportunity End of Year SMARTR Outcome |
Goal: By the end of the SY 2021-22, 100% of students at Justice will demonstrate increased proficiency in critical thinking as measured by common performance indicators determined by collaborative teams. |
Strategy 1: Tier 1 Instruction: Provide targeted professional development in culturally responsive teaching practices that improve positive relationships, which are foundational to advancing critical thinking. Strategy 2: Tier 1 Instruction: Ensure all students gain the subject-specific critical thinking skills to access and achieve expectations for rigor in every course. Strategy 3: Tier 2 Instruction: MTSS structures will be implemented to ensure all students achieve proficiency in critical thinking. |
Dropout Rate End of Year SMARTR Outcome |
Goal: By the end of the SY 2021-22, our dropout rate for the Cohort Year of 2022 will be at or below 9%. |
Strategy 1: Increase outreach to students in the Cohort Year of 2022 who have indicated that they would like to drop out of school. Strategy 2: Reconnect disengaged students with an appropriate education program and options that will lead to successful re-engagement and the pursuit of a high school diploma or equivalent. Strategy 3: Identify and support seniors in need of tier 3 supports or interventions so they can successfully earn a passing grade in courses and or earn verified credits needed for graduation. Strategy 4: Identify and support underclassmen from future cohorts (2023, 2024 and 2025) in order to take a more proactive and preventive approach to On Time Graduation (OTG). |
