Students were able to learn about the YEAR UP program and how it prepares students for success in the future. Earn a stipend throughout the program (both while you train and during your internship) and complete courses eligible for college credit. Want to go to work after high school? Chick Fil A and Starbucks will be here and you will be able to learn about what it takes to find a good employment opportunity after high school graduation. Students were able to learn about the NCAA and why students need to be registered in order to be recruited for college-level sports. Students were able to learn more about the ethics and integrity of the college admission process Students were able to ask college deans about the early action/early decision program at their colleges. Students were able to talk with NOVA reps about pursuing an Associate’s degree and the options upon completion. Students learn about useful tips on how to navigate CommonApp, an online application that you can use to apply to many different colleges Even our dreamer students got in on the action! Students who want to go to college but are not able to qualify for financial aid due to personal reasons were able to learn more about the resources that are available to assist with your college plans.
