E-Learning Backpack Initiative
Justice is participating in this grant program from the Virginia Dept. of Education
VDOE e-learning Backpack Grant
This program includes five FCPS high schools that are currently a part of the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) e-Learning Backpack Grant. Those schools are Justice, Lee, Annandale, Falls Church, and Mount Vernon High Schools. The grant provides funding for the purchase of a laptop device for every ninth-grade student at qualifying schools for up to four years to assist in the transition to digital learning. The e-Learning Backpack grant schools will be included in professional development opportunities and will benefit from the new learning resources developed for Phase One of FCPSOn.

Student Login Information Update:
As of Monday, August 15th, FCPS students will use the same username and password to log on to their computers, FCPS Google Apps for Education, FCPS 24-7/Blackboard and their SIS Student accounts. Students may receive a message when logging in to their FCPS Google Apps for Education account that the password has recently been changed – this is part of the account sync process.
All FCPS middle and high school will have access to SIS StudentVUE accounts beginning September 1. These accounts will allow students to see class schedules and after September 19th, real-time grades. https://sisstudent.fcps.edu/SVUE
Students can use the password reset self-service tool if they forget their password. To use this tool, the student must PRE-REGISTER a mobile phone or non-fcpsschools.net email. We recommend all students register for this service.
Distribution of Laptops Hello, we are about ready to start the distribution process for all laptops for the coming school year. This year each student will be required to have a laptop for daily instruction. We anticipate all students having a school-issued laptop by September 19. Several sophomores and juniors received them last year and they will receive those before school starts. Freshmen who attended Glasgow should have turned in a permission form at Glasgow at the end of the school year. Freshmen will receive their laptops shortly after the first few days of school during 3rd period. Seniors should complete the form as well to be issued a laptop.
Turn in your permission forms to the Main Office as soon as possible so we can issue you a computer to be prepared for this school year.
Distribution Schedule Grade 10 and 11 students who had a computer issued last year can stop by from 9-11am or 1-2pm prior to the beginning of the school year to pick up their laptop.
Students who have not been issued a computer should turn in forms to the main office as soon as possible. Computers will be assigned based upon the times that forms are returned. The earlier the form is completed, the sooner you receive your computer. Freshmen will receive computers after the first week of school.
We are very excited about this process for the upcoming school year. Our staff will be working over the school year to integrate technology into the classroom to provide a more active learning environment for student success.
